Shape Credits are our platform’s virtual currency, used to access premium AI engines. They aren’t a 1:1 replacement for technical tokens — instead, they provide a simplified, user-friendly way to interact with powerful models without worrying about complex token math. Each credit grants a set amount of access depending on the model you’re using. Different AI engines have different compute costs — and premium models like Claude 3.7 can cost 5–10x more to operate than others. Our credit system reflects these real-world differences, and we’ve designed it to be fair, and balanced — not to “drain” your credits unfairly. Credits are charged at each model’s list rate. Actual usage may vary depending on the engine selected and the configuration of your Shape. You can visit our Shape Credits Guide to see an example of differences between engines.

Shape Credits are available as a pay-as-you-go system

Purchasing Shape Credits gives you the flexibility to access premium engines through a pay-as-you-go system. Shape Credits never expire and can be used in the following ways:

Account Credits

  • Your Account (all shapes) – Use credits to chat with any shape in any chat
  • When you have account premium, shapes will always use their best engines
  • Works with Auto Top-Up so you never run out

Chat Credits

  • Sponsor a Chat – Give everyone in a chat premium access
  • Perfect for sharing premium with friends in your favorite chats
  • Everyone in that chat gets to use premium engines

Individual Shape Credits (if you have them)

  • If you bought credits for individual shapes before, you can still use them
  • They work with those specific shapes just like before
  • Note: We’re not selling individual shape credits anymore - just account and chat credits now

What You Get Access To

With Shape Credits, you get:
  • Access to premium engines
  • Access to premium image engines if enabled by the creator of the shape
You can also earn credits for free by completing tasks and rewards in Rewards.

How It Works

  • If you have premium credits and a premium engine is available, Shapes may upgrade the chat to a premium engine.
  • If you want to avoid using account credits in a chat, open the chat title, go to Personal AI Preferences, and turn on Don’t Use My Credits when the option is available.
The number of credits used per message varies depending on the AI model and configuration, since some engines are significantly more expensive to run than others. Shape Credits allow you to access these models on demand, giving you flexible access without a subscription commitment. Creditstable Pn Pricing and features subject to change.
